Strathisla and Milnbank do the double at Thainstone 
3rd December 2012
Another good day today for the flocks at the Christmas Classic in Thainstone taking both the suffolk and texel championships. We then went on to sell the Texel at 3000gns to Scott Michie and the Suffolk went to Judge Neil Benzie for 1200gns. We then added a Strathbogie gimmer to the flock for 3500gns, she is an E.T. sister to former Texel Sire of the Year, Strathbogie Python. 
Milnbank top Christmas Stars at 18,000gns

Milnbank enjoyed our best ever female sale at Carlisle yesterday averaging at £4180 for a pen of 12, grossing £50,000. 

The pen leader, a daughter of 40,000gns Razzle Dazzle sold for the top price of 18,000gns carrying twins to 60,000gns Teiglum Tornado, she sold to J Forsyth, Glenside. Follow link to video of her being sold:

Two then sold for 5000gns, the first was another Razzle Dazzle daughter out of a Douganhill Navahoe ewe, sold to Kenny Pratt, Hill Top. The next an E.T. sister to 25,000gns Special One also sold in lamb to Tornado to Helen Hunter. The first gimmer in the ring made 3200gns to S Cobbald, another Razzle Dazzle out of the 8500gns Ettrick ewe.

Strathisla Suffolks sell to 4500gns at Carlisle

Strathisla Suffolks enjoyed another successful female sale at Carlisle selling to a top of 4500gns for a Strathisla Seabird gimmer, her dam FNV:L60 is an E.T. sister to the 48,000gns Dylan Thomas and has produced lambs selling to 9,000gns, 3500gns, 2800gns and 2600gns this year. She sold in lamb to Rookery Rooney and finds a new home with Irish duo Mark Priestley Limestone and Joe Stewart Gransha. 

Next best at 3000gns was a Cairness Kaos daughter out of a Strathisla Schumacher ewe, she sold in lamb to Forkins Figo to G & J Soulsby of the Williamsgill flock. Following that at 2800gns was a Glenhead Golden Phoenix daughter out of a Strathisla Speed dam carrying twins to the 12,000gns Strathisla Stifler and sold to new breeders Messers Wilson, Castle Douglas. Then at 2600gns was another Seabird daughter, this one an E.T. sister to the 5000gns gimmer sold earlier in the year at Beeston Castle, also sold in lamb to Strathisla Stifler and she also sold to Limestone and Gransha flocks. 

Sale average: 7 ewes at £769 and 23 gimmers at £1524.
