Milnbank Texels had a brilliant 2 days at The Scottish National Show & Sale of Texels in Lanark last week. At the pre-sale show we won 1st prize in the recorded ram lamb class with Milnbank Ur-The-Boy who then went on to take reserve male champion. The following day Ur-the-Boy who is a son of the 60,000gns Teiglum Tornado went on to sell for 40,000gns - the second highest price of the day. He was purchased by Charlie Boden, Sportsman's and Keith, Allan and Roy Campbell, Cowal. Milnbank Uranium then went on to sell for 6200gns. Milnbank Uraguay who had stood 5th in open ram lamb class sold at 5400gns to Steve and Helen Smith of the Penparc Flock. Further lambs from our pen went on to sell at 5200gns & 5000gns making an average of £9,645 for a pen of 7.

We also purchased a share of the highest price ram lamb of the sale - Strathbogie Untouchable, 48,000gns.

I have added some photographs from the sale to the Gallery section.

Suffolk ewes were freshly shorn 2 days before AI & the tups are now out with them. No suffolk ewes have been flushed this year and we have no frozen embryos in storage. It is a complete dispersal & a once in a lifetime opportunity for new and existing breeders to purchase some of the top bloodlines within the breed.
